Valle Gran Rey
the place where the sun says goodbye to the day
The beauty of the landscapes, dotted with innumerable palm trees, makes the municipality a cluster of neighborhoods with white houses that contrast with the green of the landscapes: Guadá, El Guro, La Vizcaína, are some of these areas, of which numerous hiking trails follow Las Hayas, the great plateau of La Merica or the nearby village of Chipude.
The main attraction of the municipality are undoubtedly the beaches, the best on the island, where the fine black sand merges with the pure blue water. There is the beach at Vueltas which is next to the port; the Charco del Conde, a small natural bay where young people like to bathe; the Playa y la Puntilla, which is in the westernmost area and is of considerable size; and Playa del Inglés, perhaps one of the most impressive corners of the island, where the black sand and the bravura of the water balance against the cliffs of La Merica in a natural enclave unparalleled in the Canary Islands.
It has an extensive infrastructure of apartments and accommodation, as well as all kinds of leisure activities. The visits from the port of Vueltas to Los Órganos, in the neighboring municipality of Vallehermoso, are a real marvel of the erosion effect on the limestone. Several companies also rent bicycles for bike rides or organize hiking activities due to the strategic location for communication on the island, as well as a network of hiking trails perfectly adapted for the users.
